Spot the Doll

This morning I wandered over to my first Philly flea market on East Passyunk. I now know what most of my weekends will be spent doing. So much cool, random stuff and real East Coast accents on all the vendors. Loved it. I also just realised that there's a doll in each of these photos.

27 Degrees in September

Saturday was 27 degrees in Philly and I spent it collecting this loot from a sample sale :) It was also the day I found an apartment. 3 weeks til I'm living in Northern Liberties.

It's Official..

I'm moving to Philadelphia, PA! After months of interviews, visa applications and shipping documents, I'm finally on my way. Just gottta get this train (where a first class ticket gets you only free pissy instant coffee NOT the luxury that is a latte!) to London, taxi to Heathrow and plane to Philly. Bye bye Anglesey.... (For now, I'll be back)

A Stones Throw

Last weekend we finally had some sun and took advantage of a balmy evening on the beach with fire, lamb and red wine.

Woven

I recently stumbled across Native Line through Monmarte, which is a kinda blog/ gallery space of artist Justine Ashbee. I love these wall hangings and all the other random bits of inspiration over on the website.  They're making me want to try weaving but more so making me want to paint something similar. Or perhaps draw, the monochrome weavings could almost be line drawings.

Steep Hill

I was in Lincoln over the weekend visiting family and spent Saturday seeking shelter from thunder storms in the city's vintage shops, tea rooms and beautiful Cathedral.

Pigments

I've spent most of my spare time over the last few weeks mixing up my old paints beneath both sunshine and rain. The fruits of my efforts aren't really worthy of sharing but here's a few pictures. I've decided to keep at it until I do have something spectacular to share. I keep hitting a brick wall, I wish I was still in London sometimes to gather some much needed inspiration.

Fragments from the Weekend

My first piercing in 21 years! Yes I know everyone was getting their second ear piercing way back when they were teenagers but I was a bit slow with the whole thing. My older sister has just opened a Tattoo studio with her boyf and so had a complimentary piercing on Saturday.

I then bought yet another white tee from Topshop and we went for a veggie lunch.

Happenings

So I've not blogged in ages, mainly because I've not really been home. June has been a somewhat manic month- flying to Philadelphia for a job interview and then visiting friends in London and Cornwall. Here's a glimpse at what I got up to.

The amazing Free People head office out in Philly where I will hopefully be working come Autumn....

A friends wedding in London over the weekend which was such a lovely day.

We had breakfast at Maison D'etre in Islington...

And dinner at the Blue Legume..

I visited my good friend Jessie in Penzance and she showed me some of the delights Cornwall has to offer. The highlight being her beautiful little house she's spent the last year renovating. You can see more pics over on her blog here.
